 Friday morning as a follow up to the Confirmation, we will be taking the boys on a Retreat to La Scala in Blackrock. This has been organised by Fr. George and he is kindly covering the cost involved. We will be leaving at 9.15 am and will return to the school at 1.00 pm.

 The boys who did not receive the sacrament of Confirmation will be accommodated in other classes until 1pm.

SCOIL EOIN – BAILE AN CHOLLAIGH 19th May 2015
5th Class Tour takes place on Friday June 26th. The boys will travel to the Glen Resource Centre in Cork. The cost of this tour will be €35 per child, we would appreciate if the money could be paid by Tuesday 16th June.
The bus will leave the school yard at 9.00 am (sharp) and we hope to return to the school at 4.15 pm.
Below is a list of the necessary items needed for the trip.

Scoil Eoin – Baile an Chollaigh 15ú Bealtaine 2015
A thuismitheoirí,
The 6th Class boys will be taking part in coaching sessions organised by the Munster Branch of the Pitch & Putt Union of Ireland. These sessions will take place on Monday 18th and Monday 25th May in the Ranges Pitch and Putt Club Ballincollig.
Each session will be 1 ½ hours long and will be conducted by Steven Enneguess, PPUI National Coach and with the help of other members of The Ranges Pitch & Putt Club.
To help defray some of the cost to the school, we are asking each boy to bring in €1 on Monday morning.

Please note the following information:

PFA Raffle will be held on Thursday next at 3.oo pm in Scoil Eoin Library, you are welcome to attend.
 Buckleys will be in Scoil Eoin on Monday next, 25th May at 8.45. Uniforms, Tracksuits and new school shorts (€15) will be available for purchase on that day.
 There will be a final PFA Clothes Collection for this school year on Tuesday 26th May. Please drop bags into the school on that morning.
 As advised the school will be closed on this Friday, 22nd May for Referendum.
 Please forward stamped addressed envelopes to the class teacher, (for reports) as soon as possible.

Scoil Eoin Baile an Chollaigh 30ú Aibreán 2015

First Class school tour is on Friday 29th May. The tour will consist of an educational tour in Fota, a tour of Cobh and a visit to the Titanic Experience.. The cost of the trip is €28.. This covers the bus, the entrance to Fota & the Educational Tour, lunch in Supermacs Cobh, a tour of Cobh and a visit to the Titanic Experience. The boys can bring a small snack for Fota, and wear their school tracksuit.

The bus will leave the school yard at 8.30 a.m. and return to the school at 3.30 – 3.45 pm approximately.
Payment for the tour can be made in instalments over the next 5 weeks.

Scoil Eoin – Baile an Chollaigh 28ú Aibrean 2015

Your son will be receiving the Sacrament of confirmation from Archbishop Patrick Coveney in the Church of St. Mary & St. John on Friday 8th May at 10.30 a.m.

• The boys will be handed their Confirmation Robes on Thursday – please return these to the school on Monday 11th May.. It is a personal choice if you wish your child to wear a rosette.

• The boys will assemble in their classroom at 10.15 a.m. from where they will proceed to the Church.

• Please ensure that the sponsors are aware of their own seat number and position in the Church PRIOR to the Ceremony. Details on the teachers’ blogs.

• On Monday 11th May, John Quaid, ( photographer) will be in the school to take class and individual photographs of the boys in their Confirmation clothes. Arrangements can also be made if you wish to have brothers included in photographs.

To mark their Confirmation Day, the boys will be allowed home at 12 noon on Monday 11th May.

A Thuismitheoirí,
I would like you to note the following important dates for your son in school, this term.
• Our standardised tests in English for Rang 1 – Rang 6 will be on the week of the 19th – 21st May.
• Our standardised tests in Maths for Rang 1 – rang 6 will be on the week of the 26th – 28th May.
It is important that all children are in school on those dates.
 School Reports will be prepared and posted in June. Please ensure that a self addressed envelope is forwarded to the class teacher before the 5th June. In a situation where two reports are required, please send two self addressed envelopes.

 We will be closed on Monday & Tuesday next, 4th & 5th May. Also Monday & Tuesday, 1st & 2nd June. School will close for summer holidays on 30th June at 12 noon.
o Cork City Sports will be held on June 10th in CIT Campus.
o Our own school sports day will be confirmed in mid June.
